Treadmill Tips

As the weather cools off, I've noticed some people commenting that they aren't looking forward to heading back to the "dreadmill"when the frigid temps roll in much sooner than many of us wish for. As someone who has spent a lot of time walking very slowly on the treadmill as I started a fitness routine, I don't mind it that much... as long as I don't fall off it. (Which I've totally done before as I'm a complete klutz.)

  • I can force myself to work harder by throwing up the incline. A little harder to do if you want to make a hill appear in the middle of your run.
  • I love climate controlled environments, and a zero chance of getting rained on.
  • I can easily get sucked into a House Hunters marathon on the TV and be done with my workout in what feels like no time.

The folks over at FitSugar have a great article up today about Treadmill Tips to Burn More Calories, Build Muscle, and Run Faster. Some of the tips:
  • Do sprinting intervals
  • Incorporate walking lunges
  • Practice negative splits
Go check out all the tips here, and feel free to share your own tips in the comments!
