Personally, music makes me feel like I'm working harder for some reason. I like having a beat to walk to or to stair climb to. It helps perk my mind up when it seems to want to just take a nap.
There are some great sites online that can help resuscitate your tired workout playlist. Here are a few of them:
- Self Magazine: Self.com has lots of playlists on their website, and most interestingly the playlists of some of their recent celebrities who have appeared in the magazine.
- Shape Magazine: Shape.com also keeps their playlists updated and has a variety based on type of workout to playlists played while people are doing photo shoots.
- Steady130.com: Steady130 is one of the first places I go when looking for some new workout music. They have remixed songs categorized by beats per minute (BPM) and by genre (pop, R&B, etc.)
- GymDJ: I haven't been on GymDJ much, but I like what I hear so far! Songs are categorized by BPM, but also by type of exercise (running, boxing, warmups, etc).

Thanks for the link to Steady130.com... I love it!
ReplyDeleteawesome, glad you like!
DeleteThank you for the suggestions! I have a terrible time picking music to workout to and tend to gravitate towards music that I can sing along with, which is not something I want to be doing while exercising at the gym!
ReplyDeletePerhaps you don't think you should sing along at the gym, but us spectators enjoy it! Ha!
