A group of my runner friends have become obsessed with running from zombies. (This is related to technology, I promise!) Seeing as I've been dealing with an ankle injury and not running, I thought they were insane. Were there zombies now on our trails where we run? Surely I haven't been out of the training loop that long...
As it turns out, they are obsessed with an iPhone (and soon-to-be Android) app called Zombies, Run!
You start off innocently enough on your run, listening to your playlist when you hear zombies approaching. You pick up pace so they don't catch you. Seems like motivation enough to me! There is gameplay also, where you are running to save others, and build your little survival stash.
It seems motivation for exercise can come from anywhere... including zombies!
