Summer Skincare

June brings with it warmer temperatures, kids off of school, and hopefully some time by the pool or the beach. The last thing you want to deal with during the summer is a sunburn, or splotchy skin in your sleeveless tops.

Some tips on how to keep your body's largest organ (your skin) healthy and glowing:

  • Wear sunscreen and re-apply regularly. Gone are the days of sunscreen as a greasy glob of goo. Now there are formulas that cater towards all skin types and activity levels.
  • Eat your fruit, veggies, and fish: Vitamins, minerals, and Omega-3 Fatty Acids all help with skin cell regeneration, retained skin elasticity, and given an antioxidant boost.
  • Add some style with a hat that can provide an additional layer of protection between the sun and your sunscreen. When else during the year can you get away wearing huge floppy straw hats?!
  • Pamper your skin with some sugar scrub, which will help slough away dead skin and reveal smoother, softer skin that matches your flowy sundress

Even for those who don't feel like they burn, it is still super important for proper skin protection. We might not all be as sun-crazed as "tanning mom," but that doesn't mean we should ignore the risks.

Do you have any special skin regimen you use in the summer?
